Check the Lakeshore Calendar for this year’s dates.
FALL
- Family-to-Family (Includes Kindergarten Night and Back to School Night): A program to help welcome new families into the Lakeshore community.
- Lakeshore Picnic: The all-school event in Golden Gate Park features old-fashioned food, drinks, friendship, games and entertainment.
- Multicultural Potluck: Everyone brings a favorite food from the family tradition to this festive evening, where performers present multicultural entertainment.
- Halloween at Lakeshore: The Community Room transforms into a haunted house for the day, and students join in the playground costume parade.
WINTER
- Family Math Night: Math games show the whole family how much fun numbers and math concepts can be.
- Family Literacy Night: An evening of fun activities for the whole family to enhance reading and writing skills.
- Read-a-thon and Book Fair: Students collect pledges for enjoying their favorite books and increasing their reading skills. They explore the joys of reading at the Book Fair.
- Lakeshore Art Show and Social: The Lakeshore community comes together for an evening of socializing. Student art will be displayed and available for purchase.
SPRING
- Open House and Science Fair: Admire science projects created by students from all grades. Classrooms are open for visits and students’ work is displayed.
- Auction and Wine Tasting: This event moved off-site and apart from the Spring Fling in 2005 and we are maintaining this schedule in order to attract a larger crowd of potential buyers. This adult-only event requires a large number of school volunteers, and is the largest fundraiser of the year. It is an elegant evening of fine food, drinks, socializing and bidding. Wine tasting and sales of competition-grade wines add to the evening.
- Spring Fling: An all-day family festival on the playground brings fun and funds to Lakeshore. It represents one of our bigger fundraisers and we request help from every family.
- Graduation: Daytime festivities celebrate a momentous event for graduating fifth-graders and their families.
See the PTA Directory to find out who will be organizing this year’s events.
