Message from the Principal
It is hard to believe that the school year is over! This year has been filled with many memorable moments spent with children, parents/caregivers and families, teachers and staff that I will forever cherish. We have had many laughs together and with the good times there were also the challenges. Whatever we were dealing with, I feel that we always came together and made decisions putting our children first.

Sadly, many of our families will no longer be at Lakeshore next year with their children moving on to middle school or relocating. I will miss all of you and hope that you stop by now and again!

I hope everyone has a safe and rejuvenating summer! To those of you who are moving on, I wish you and your families a wonderful journey wherever it may take you. To those returning to Lakeshore next year, I look forward to working with you in the 2010-2011 school year. – Ms. Keener

SUMMER BREAK : LEARNING AND STAYING ACTIVE
Keep the learning going and have a look at the many activities that are being offered FREE! A handout of many events and activities are included with today’s newsletter provided by SFUSD. If you do not receive this handout, please call the school office or stop by and pick one up! It has been translated to provide access to every family. – Ms. Keener

The organizing team consists of: Alison Levy, Victoria Tan, Mariah Bianchi, Dave Stockett, Michael Conte, Kanya Rajangam, Andrea Brown
Please consider becoming Auction Chair to head up this fabulous team. – Megumi Fuse, PTA President

Message from the PTA President
This has been an exciting year, where we have really seen the teachers and community rally for education. I am proud to say that we, the PTA, have been able to be part of this. We have offered the enrichment programs for your kids, such as art, poetry, theater, music, dance, yoga and so much more. We have raised funds to keep programs that would otherwise get cut next year, with over $60,000 in revenue from membership, silent auction and many other events. We also have a great new Auction crew ready to get next year’s auction underway, so please contact me if you want to help. We have also made some big changes for next year. Stay tuned for our Fall Harvest Festival to replace our Spring Fling – great weather, green theme and lots of fun! And while we have also seen some budget cuts, I continue to work with the Arts Grant Committee, Lindsey Keener and the School Site Council to coordinate our expenses to ensure that all Lakeshore kids get the best education possible.

But remember, none of this could be done without all your participation. Thanks for all your hard work this year, and think about how you will participate next year!

Finally, next year will be my last year as president and at Lakeshore school. Please consider the position of PTA President for the upcoming year. Become my VP this year, so you can see how it all works, and slowly get involved. Feel free to contact me to discuss this position or any others on the PTA roster. December Shopping Party Results
Before the year ends, I would like to say THANK YOU to all of the shoppers who came to the Sports Basement Shopping Party in December. I just found out that we bought over $5,000 worth of merchandise and earned $581 (10% of sales) for Lakeshore! We are hoping to have this event again in December 2010 and hope to see many of you and your friends/ family there! This is an extremely easy and fun way to earn a little money for our school! Thanks again, Mariah
