Architecture

The architecture program offers opportunities to discover architectural design as a way to add to and enrich the core curriculum.

Students are provided opportunities to look at different aspects of architecture form and function and compare them to structures found in nature. They are encouraged to explore these concepts through hands-on building projects using a variety of materials.

Ms. Buss received her M.Arch and Ph.D. from the UCLA Graduated School of Architecture and Urban Planning.

She has taught and directed design-based programs for children in the AIA/Leap Architects in the Schools Program, Santa Monica Kids City, Headlands Center for the Arts, Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland and the Bay Area Discovery Museum. She has authored numerous articles about the power of architecture to augment and enrich the K-6 curriculum. She also works as a Senior Associate at Leslie Stones Associates, an exhibit design firm in Sausalito.
