PTA Committees

Lakeshore PTA Committees come and go depending on parent interest and participation. To help with any of these committees and their projects, please contact the appropriate committee chair.

The ART COMMITTEE/BULLETIN BOARDS COMMITTEE coordinates displays of children's art work, PTA information and other displays as needed.

The BOOK FAIR COMMITTEE organizes book sale that happens in conjunction with Literacy Night and Read-a-thon.

The CHOCOLATES SALES COMMITTEE organizes a profitable fundraiser, supporting the students in their efforts.

The FAMILY TO FAMILY COMMITTEE provides mentors to welcome new families coming to Lakeshore and sets up an orientation program just before school starts.

The GRADUATION COMMITTEE coordinates the celebrations for graduating fifth-graders.

The GRANT WRITING COMMITTEE researches available grants, writes proposals and applies for grants.

The HALLOWEEN COMMITTEE delights the kids with a spooky celebration in the Community Room and a playground parade.

The HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE coordinates the refreshments for PTA General Meetings, maintains the supplies closet and makes sure there is coffee and tea for these events.

The LIBRARY COMMITTEE helps maintain and support Lakeshore's impressive library program.

The LUNCHEON COMMITTEE creates festive appreciation luncheons for staff and teachers a few times a year.

The MULTICULTURAL COMMITTEE presents the popular Multicultural Potluck in the fall and creates other events celebrating Lakeshore's diverse community.

The PARENT WORKDAY COMMITTEE coordinates a few school wide Saturday events for sprucing up the facilities. Projects have included painting the benches on the yard, building a shed for the garden, and gardening activities.

The PLAYGROUND COMMITTEE address issues of playground safety and other concerns as they arise. Comprised of both playground supervision and maintenance.

The READ-A-THON COMMITTEE creates a fundraiser that encourages kids to read while raising funds for Lakeshore.

The RETIREMENT EVENT COMMITTEE will plan a party to thank dedicated Lakeshore teachers who are ready for new adventures.

The ROOM PARENT COORDINATORS organize room parents and are a resource for new room parents.

The SCHOOL TOUR COMMITTEE showcases our wonderful school Tuesday mornings during school tour season (Oct.-Jan.).

The SCIENCE COMMITTEE presents the Science Fair and evaluates the science needs of the school.

The SCRIP COMMITTEE handles sales of scrip, an easy and profitable fundraiser that lets every family contribute.

The SILENT AUCTION COMMITTEE presents an event thatÅfs a fun shopping spree as well as an effective fundraiser, held during the Spring Fling.

The SPRING FLING COMMITTEE organizes an all-day festival in May with game booths, entertainment, food and all kinds of other fun.

The TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE is committed to integrating emerging technologies into the Lakeshore curriculum.
