PTA Meeting Wed., Feb. 7, 2018, 6:30-8pm

Members, please join us for the February PTA meeting. Child care and snacks are provided, $5 suggested donation for child care.

TOPICS

VOTE on mid-year budget revision. We are halfway through the year, so we can update this year’s budget with what has been raised and spent so far. This tells us how much extra we will have to spend for next year. Check out the draft mid-year budget revision here. Speaking of which…

Hear initial plans for next year’s budget. If we have a successful auction and Superhero Saturday, then we will end the year with a surplus that you, the members, can help decide how to spend. We will share initial thoughts. The surplus goes to programs for your kids, so come join the conversation.

…And more!

The usual materials are not ready yet but will be available by Tuesday, February 6. Please check back and review before the meeting to make things go faster: agenda, financial snapshot, and checks to ratify.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Second District (San Francisco) PTA Meeting and Fundraising Summit takes place Saturday, February 10. Free and open to all PTA members. Register and see agenda.

Help needed! Our community is people-powered. Many hands make light work, and make for a quality environment for kids and parents. Contact pta@LakeshoreElementary.org if you can help.

  • IT security – our WordPress website was breached which includes some parents’ contact information, and only one non-IT volunteer has been dealing with it outside of work and family hours. If you have expertise, please step up.
  • Ask for auction donations – donations are rolling in and tickets are on sale, but we need more donations to auction off. Please print a donation form from this page and follow the tips on how to ask for a donation from your favorite restaurant, nail salon, spa, gym, mechanic, and more!
  • Look into grants for school garden programs – can info like this lead to reliable revenue and reduce our fundraisers?
  • Coordinate parent volunteers on the K yard – work with teachers, PBIS, and Playworks to make recess safer and more fun
  • K and 1st grade yard repainting team – Playworks sponsored the repainting of the Upper Yard. They may be able to do the same on the K and 1st grade yards. Let’s get a team together to contribute designs and painting for this 1-day project, if it comes to pass.

THANKS AND SEE YOU!
