2021 Annual Giving Campaign Results are IN!

The Annual Giving Campaign team is proud and humbled to reveal the final tally of this year’s fall fundraiser. Including employer matching, you have pledged…

$100,911.60

Unbelievable! 😮😍💯👏 Honestly, this Fundraising Chair—for the first time in five years, right until the end—truly did not think we would reach our goal. We had FIVE obstacles:

  1. Continuing financial impacts after over a year of the pandemic
  2. 25% less time than usual (three weeks instead of four)
  3. Two grades who, due to the pandemic or Covid precautions, haven’t had as much of a chance to build connections with our school community (yet)
  4. Noticeably fewer students and therefore donors this year, a challenge that public schools across the whole state are facing
  5. And lastly, setting a higher budget goal than last year, without realizing the severity of the above factors.

However, the Lakeshore community came together to exceed our aggressive $100,000 goal and work towards securing another year of enrichment programs, teacher and staff support, and community events. We are beyond thrilled with these results!

Prizes: top percent participation gets to water balloon the principal, school-wide dance party if we meet our $100,000 goal, and 3 classes with top % participation and 6 classes raising the most in their grade groups win a class celebration

Congratulations to the school for earning our school-wide dance party grand prize! The dance is tentatively scheduled for Friday, November 5. More details to follow.

Congratulations also to the winning classrooms who will receive class celebrations, and to the first place percent participation classrooms—there’s more than one— who get to water balloon Mr. Hartford! 🌊🎈

Top student percent participation:

  1. Ms. A. Chan at 77.8%
  2. Mrs. Fusscas at 78.6%
  3. TIE: Ms. Kelsey and Ms. Bohórquez at 81.3% 🌊🎈🌊🎈

Highest amounts raised in grade groups:

  • SDC: Mr. Curtis, $2,200.50
  • 4th and 5th grade: Ms. Goldberg, $8,242.00
  • 3rd grade: Ms. Cristina, $14,650.00
  • 2nd grade: Mrs. Palacio, $6,810.00
  • 1st grade: Mrs. Wu, $5,165.00
  • Kinder: Ms. Jordan, $4,471.00

We did an awesome job in so many ways:

  • We surpassed last year’s number of donors by 55.
  • Our school-wide student percent participation was 53%, the highest ever.
  • Four classrooms had greater than 75% participation, a new record.
  • Over half our classrooms had greater than 50% participation, also a new record.
  • Kudos to two families donating for students in the Online Program, who hadn’t been physically attending Lakeshore. We deeply appreciate your dedication to the community despite the distance.
  • Over $25,000—a quarter of our goal—is coming from corporate matching. Thanks to those Lakeshore donors for taking the time to ask their employers and relatives’ employers.

We’re so impressed that there were 10 students with four or more donors, showing that it’s not just about big numbers, but also about reaching out to your network. Kudos to the family of Noah T. who recruited 14 different donors to help Lakeshore, and to the students out there who are creating handmade gifts for your donors. We appreciate your creative thinking! All these individual contributions really add up.

Thank you to our fantastic volunteers who helped make this a success. The letters, translations, posts, weekly updates, in-person promotion on the yard, Spirit Days, spirit gear, prizes, testimonials, matching challenge, and accounting were possible thanks to dedicated Lakeshore Leopard families working over the last six weeks. Great job to all involved!

Thanks to our teachers and staff for being supportive during such a difficult time once again, when the last thing they needed was another distraction. Your patience and assistance were greatly appreciated!

Finally, thank you again to everyone who donated, raised awareness, and participated in spirit days! Your generosity means so much and makes our school a better place.

With deep appreciation,
The Lakeshore Elementary PTA
