2022 Annual Giving Campaign Results are IN!

The Annual Giving Campaign team is proud and humbled to reveal the final tally of this year’s fall fundraiser. Including employer matching, you have pledged…

$93,011.26

Unbelievable! 😮😍💯👏 Our team is so impressed with Lakeshore! For the first time in Annual Giving Campaign history, we didn’t make our goal by the deadline—we think that the shorter fundraising period of 3 weeks instead of 4, lower enrollment (similar to many SFUSD schools), inflation, financial struggles, and reduced family engagement coming out of the pandemic are all understandable reasons. However, when we extended the deadline and asked for help, our community stepped up and showed up in true Leopard fashion! Well done!

The Lakeshore community came together to exceed our aggressive $90,000 goal and work towards securing another year of enrichment programs, teacher and staff support, and community events. We are thrilled—and relieved—with these results!

CONGRATULATIONS to the school for earning our school-wide dance party grand prize! More details to follow once we determine a date.

CONGRATULATIONS to the winning classrooms who will receive class celebrations!

Top student percent participation:

  1. Ms. Reyes at 70.0%
  2. TIE for 2nd place: Mrs. Fusscas and Mr. Joseph both at 75.0%
  3. Ms. Angela at 82.35%

Highest amounts raised in grade groups:

  • SDC: Mr. Curtis, $2,563.34
  • 4th and 5th grade: Mr. Brown, $8,410.00
  • 3rd grade: Ms. Chan, $5,257.11
  • 2nd grade: Mrs. Palacio, $3,723.32
  • 1st grade: Ms. Nguyen, $5,347.09
  • Kinder: Ms. Der, $15,620.00

We did an awesome job in so many ways:

  • Our school-wide student percent participation was 54%, the highest ever—two years in a row!
  • Three classrooms had greater than 75% participation
  • Two-thirds of our classrooms had more than 50% participation, a new record.
  • Over $23,000—a quarter of our goal—is coming from corporate matching. Thanks to those Lakeshore donors for taking the time to ask their employers and relatives’ employers.

We’re excited that there were 7 students with 4 or more donors, showing that it’s not just about big numbers, but also about reaching out to your network. Kudos to the family of Noah T. who recruited different donors to help Lakeshore, the students donating Tooth Fairy money, and the families out there going the extra mile. We appreciate your creative thinking! All these individual contributions really add up.

Curious about trends and more details? Check back this week for the report.

Hats off to the staff and teachers for being supportive of the campaign and Spirit Days, handing out packets and stickers, and bringing donations to the office when the last thing they need is another distraction. Your patience and assistance were greatly appreciated!

Biggest thanks to all the families, friends, staff, and businesses who donated, matched donations, spread the word, and participated in Spirit Days. There are a few donors who once again gave wildly generous amounts in the thousands: you know who you are, and thank you! There were relentless families who went out of their way to reach beyond Lakeshore to get support from their larger networks—a real grassroots effort. And there were donations that were just $1. Every little bit helps! The PTA can ask, but YOU are the ones who ultimately opened your hearts and wallets and made this fundraiser a success because you believe in our school. For that, we are grateful.

With deep appreciation,
The Annual Giving Campaign Team on behalf of the Lakeshore Elementary PTA
